Dora police arrested Antrell Cornelius Parker, 19, of Dora, on Wednesday following a foot chase near Yerkwood.

Dora Officer Jared Hall and Police Chief John Duchock responded to a call to back up a Walker County Sheriff’s Office deputy on a report of a black male in a red Mustang convertible with a white top firing a gun at residents in Yerkwood.

According to Duchock, Hall spotted a car matching the description at T.J.’s in Dora. He stopped and began to search the suspect for a weapon. Parker allegedly broke free from Hall and fled on foot. Duchock said he chased Parker from T.J.’s toward Yerkwood before apprehending him.

Duchock also said he witnessed Parker toss something from his pocket just prior to apprehension.

He was able to retrieve the item, which he said was marijuana.

Parker will be charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest and attempting to elude arrest. The marijuana and paraphernalia were recovered, but no gun was found.

Parker was arrested by Dora on May 10 for felony and misdemeanor charges related to drugs and guns.

He was arrested in Jefferson County for 10 similar charges on May 25.

He was arrested again in Jefferson County on June 8 for receiving stolen property.

Parker is currently in the Dora Jail pending bond revocation in Walker and Jefferson counties on other recent felony arrests.
