William M. (Bill) Mathews of Milton, Fla., and Kim West Mathews of Jasper are pleased to announced the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth Ann Mathews, to Joshua Allen Money of Pell City, the son of Richard Allen and Charlene Money of Scottsboro.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of James Harold and Patsy Sherer of Jasper, Florence M. Cain of Jasper, the late Tony M. West, the late Manly L. Mathews and the late Richard Cain, all of Jasper.

She is a 2003 graduate of Walker High School. Elizabeth earned a bachelor of arts in Spanish in 2007 from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. She then graduated from the University of Alabama in Birmingham in 2011 with a master’s degree in secondary education with a concentration in Spanish. She is currently employed as a Spanish teacher at Sumiton Christian School.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Cecil and Wilma Harrel of Centre, the late Ralph and Evelyn Whitten, the late R.L. Guice, and the late Donald Money, all of Centre.

He is a 2001 graduate of Scottsboro High School. In 2007, Josh graduated from Jacksonville State University with a bachelor of science in history education. He is now attending and will graduate in July 2013 from Samford University. Josh will have earned his master’s degree in educational leadership and administration. Josh served as president of the Kappa Alpha Order at Jacksonville State University.

He is currently employed by the Pell City School System. He is a 6th grade history teacher at Williams Intermediate School

The wedding will take place at First Baptist Church Pell City on July 13, 2013.
