The Walker-Marion Chapter of the American Red Cross will host a Celebrity Fashion Show Dinner and Silent Auction today to help raise funds for the ARC’s local Disaster Relief Services.

The event will be begin at 6 p.m. at Jasper’s First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall and will feature fashions from several local clothiers, including Belk, Lavish Boutique, Thirty8Twenty, The Keyhole, Bernard’s Store for Men and The Curosity shop and will be modeled by community personalities. There will also be musical interludes by local artists and catering for the event will be done by Black Rock Bistro.

Tickets are $25 and must be purchased in advance. Tickets are available at Lavish Boutique, Thirty8Twenty and The Keyhole, or the American Red Cross Office on Viking Drive in Jasper.

“We’d like to thank First Baptist Church of Jasper for the use of their facility for this event,” said Pam Fikes, the executive director of the ARC Walker/Marion Chapter. “We’d also like to thank our sponsors, Byars and Associates, First Bank of Jasper, Pinnacle Bank, Honda of Jasper, Hyundai of Jasper and 78 Magazine, and all the local merchants who donated items for our silent auction.

Fikes said all the proceeds from the event will benefit the American Red Cross Walker/Marion Chapter Disaster Relief Services, which serves the people in this community whose lives are affected by house fires or natural disasters.

“We are always fundraising to replenish our disaster relief fund, so we will be prepared for the next house fire or natural disaster,” Fikes said. “We are a charitable organization and we depend on the generosity of others in our community to help us perform our missions.”
