The event series in downtown Jasper continues this weekend with a Mother’s Day celebration and monthly Yard Sale on the Square.

Several businesses will be staying open until 7 p.m. today in honor of Mother’s Day. Participants of Men’s Night Out include Young Jewelers, The Secret Place, Girlie Things, Wilma's Flowers and G. May & Sons.

“They are all eager to help any person find that perfect gift for all those special mothers, future mothers or any female in your life,” said Jenny Sayles, a VISTA assigned to the city of Jasper.

Also, Christian Gann will be performing live outside City Hall from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

On Saturday, vendors will gather from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a Yard Sale on the Square, which takes place the second Saturday of every month and is hosted by the Downtown Business Association.

Comunity members can set up a booth at the event by picking up a registration form at the City Hall Annex.

The next downtown event on the schedule is Mediterranean Day, which will be Saturday, May 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
