Foy E. Anthony, 80, of Empire, formerly of Glen Allen, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Princeton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham. Mr. Anthony was born on July 19, 1932, in the Glen Allen Community in Fayette County, a son of Benton Anthony and Beatrice Woodard Anthony. He was a previous resident of Birmingham for 10 years before moving to Ohio. He attended Birmingham Southern University. He was employed with National Graphics in Columbus, Ohio for 32 years. After retirement he moved back to Alabama in 1998. He enjoyed working on Geneology. He was a member of Elm Church of Christ in Glen Allen. He previously served as Deacon at the West Broad Street Church of Christ in Columbus, Ohio. He was retired and had spent several years preaching the gospel.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Anthony; and a sister, Annette Grier.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Lettie Ann Farris Anthony of Empire; one son, Keith Anthony and his wife, Charissa, of Haleyville; three daughters, Teresa House and her husband, Scoville of Hillard, Ohio, Cynthia Hylton and her husband, Bobby, of Dora and Phyllis Thomas and her husband, Steve, of Cullman; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services were held on Monday, April 8, 2013, at 2 p.m. from the McGraw Memorial Chapel of Miles Funeral Home. Clay Barnes officiated. Burial followed at Elm Cemetery in Glen Allen.

Active pallbearers were Bobby Hylton, Glen Hylton, Andy Hylton, Sam Anthony, Glennie Hylton and Brian Faulkner.
