Bobbie Allen Smith, 79, of Shelbyville, Tenn., died Monday, April 1, 2013, at Christian Care Center of Shelbyville after an extended illness. He was a native of Arley; a retired general superintendant of General Motors - Cadillac Division of Detroit, Mich.; a veteran of the U.S. Army (Korean War); and a member of Fellowship For Christ Church in Shelbyville.

He was the son of the late James Earl and Ollie Viola Lindley Smith, and the husband of the late Viola Anderton Smith; three sisters, Maitland Barton (Lester), Glenda Calloway (Hubert), and Jane Smith; and six brothers, Early, Lura (Zettie), Stanley, Felton, John (Vera) and Blaine.

He is survived by his caregivers, nephew and niece, John Anderton and Sheila Holt of Shelbyville, Tenn.; several other nieces and nephews; and two sisters-in-law, Joann Smith and Margean Smith Freeman.

Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. today, April 3, 2013, at Arley First Baptist Church in Arley. The Rev. Zac Reno will officiate. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. at the church.

Funeral services in Shelbyville, Tenn., will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2013, at the Hillcrest Funeral Home. The Rev. Ray Armstrong will officiate. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday, April 4, 2013, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.
