The dates for the sixth annual Walker County Home and Garden Show sponsored each year by Jasper radio stations, WJBE The Planet 88.5 and WJLX AM-1240/Oldies 101.5 FM, has been set for April 12-13 at the Jasper Mall, and organizers are currently accepting vendors for this year’s event.

“We’re still in the planning stages, but we generally have 30 to 40 vendors from across north central Alabama,” said the stations’ owner, Brett Elmore. “We’re always excited about the number of vendors that return year after year, but we’re even more excited this year, because we have several new vendors that have signed up to participate, and we’re hoping to add even more.”

Elmore said the event usually ushers in spring for the Jasper Mall, and is good not only for the mall, but also for the businesses that participate and the community.

“The Jasper Mall is a perfect location for this event, there is a lot of foot traffic in the mall and the show always brings in a large crowd,” Elmore said. “Of course we will have our usual entertainment area set up where local musicians and other local talent will be performing, and we’re also working on getting some former Alabama football players to come and sign free autographs for fans.”

The 2013 Walker County Home and Garden Show is scheduled to take place on Friday, April 12, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., and Saturday, April 13, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Anyone interested in participating in this year’s event should contact Elmore at the Oldies 101.5 FM radio station in Jasper at 205-221-2222.
