Mr. Hilton Trellis Gilbert, age 72 of Brilliant, passed away Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, in the Sunset Manor Nursing Home at Guin. Mr. Gilbert was born on April 21, 1940 in Marion County, a son of Wallace and Audie Marie Guin Gilbert; lifelong resident of Brilliant where he attended Brilliant High School; he was previously employed with Coke and retired from 3-M Manufacturing at Guin; he served on Brilliant Town Council; and was a member of Brilliant Lions Club; and a member of Winfield First Freewill Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Maylene Burleson; and three brothers, Wayne, Ellis, and Kenneth Gilbert.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Eva Crow Gilbert of Brilliant; one daughter, Pam Self and her husband, Tim of Jasper; two grandchildren, Jeremy and Katie Self; one sister, Brenda Vickery and her husband, Jimmy of Brilliant; one brother, Davis Gilbert and his wife, Sybil of Brilliant; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at 11 a.m. from the McGraw Memorial Chapel of Miles Funeral Home. Danny Williams and Joe Tolbert officiating. Burial to follow in the Goldmine Cemetery with Miles Funeral Home of Winfield directing the service.
