With the win, Lynn (11-14) earns a semifinal matchup against third-ranked Parrish on Friday. Tip off is set for 6:30 p.m.
Against Brilliant, Peyton Moore led the Bears in scoring with 22 points and went a perfect 5-for-5 from three-point range.
Ben Cagle recorded a double-double on the night with 18 points and 15 rebounds, while Jeremy Tittle scored 14 points. Kyle Mederious contributed with nine points and seven rebounds.
Lynn took control of the game in the first period with a 17-11 edge, then outscored Brilliant 27-13 in the second period for the 44-24 lead at halftime.
The Tigers cut the lead to 14 in the third period, outscoring the Bears 16-10, while Lynn remained in command 54-40.
Curry 55, Hanceville 53
Three Curry players scored in double figures and the Yellow Jackets closed out the regular season on a high note, beating Hanceville 55-53 on the road Tuesday.
Jarrod Owens, Spencer Fikes and Wesley Key combined for 41 points as Curry avenged an early-season loss to the Bulldogs.
The game was tight throughout with Hanceville claiming a 17-14 advantage after the opening quarter. Curry took a 31-29 lead into the half and led 40-37 going into the fourth quarter.
Curry (12-13) knocked down nine 3-pointers in the game with Fikes making 4 of 8 from long range.
Owens led the team with 16 points, Key had 13 points and 10 rebounds, Fikes added 12 points and eight boards while Alex Odom put in three points and Josh Farley had two.
Next up for Curry is a Class 5A, Area 14 matchup with Walker at Mortimer Jordan High School at 6 p.m. Friday.
The winner earns a spot in the sub-regional round of the state playoffs while the loser sees its season end. Curry has won the first two meetings between the teams this season.
Curry 45, Hanceville 32
Curry’s Mary Beth Scott had 27 points and the Yellow Jackets closed out the regular season with a 45-32 victory at Hanceville Tuesday night.
Scott knocked down four 3-pointers and also made 11 of 14 free throws.
Curry jumped out to a 13-0 lead after the first quarter and made it stand. The Jackets led 19-8 at the half and 37-22 going into the fourth quarter.
Logan Black had six points for Curry while Ashlee Swindle put in three and Emily Aaron, Taylor Black, Kaylee Horton and Olivia Smith each had two.
Next up for Curry is a game against Hayden in the Class 5A, Area 14 Tournament at Hayden on Thursday. The game starts at 7:30 p.m.
