Jerry was born on Feb. 24, 1940.
He was married to Verthil Louise Martin Brown on May 24, 1958. The couple had three children: Dennis Ray Brown, aka “Butch,” born on March 20, 1959, who died on May 4, 2008, and was married to Mary Hagood Brown; Loretta Gwen Brown Robinson, born on July 17, 1963, and married to Tony Robinson; and Timothy Alvin Brown born on Oct. 24, 1971, and married to Leigh Williams.
He had five grandchildren, Scott Robinson, Adam Robinson, Darla Brown, Kaitlyn Brown and Tide Brown; four great-grandchildren, Hunter Robinson, Samuel Robinson, Shannon Robinson and Paisley Robinson; two sisters, Tommy Panter and Doris O’Rear, both of Jasper; and two brothers, Wayne Brown of Oakman and William Brown of Huntsville.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. today, Jan. 23, 2013, at Walker Memory Gardens. Bryan Richardson will officiate.
