The family will receive friends on today, Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at 1 p.m. at New Prospect Baptist Church, with visitation at the church from 12 until 1 p.m. Burial will be at Walker Memory Gardens. Howard Thompson will officiate. Collins-Burke Funeral Home will direct.
Mrs. Owens was preceded in death by her first husband, Wayne Evans; granddaughter, Keri Elizabeth Farris; father, John Samuel Walton; and mother, Jewel Iona Smith Walton.
She is survived by her husband, Harold Baxter Owen; daughters, Vickie Evans Farris (Jeff), Angela Hendon (Greg), and Cindy Owen; sons, Randy Evans (Deb) and David Owen; sister, Vivian Jordan (Dan); grandchildren, Amber Hayes, Kacey Harris, Dawn Farris, Jake Hendon, Jordan Hendon, Heather Hendon, and Shane Studdard; great-grandchildren, Abby Gail Harris, Ella Kate Hendon, Jenna Marie Hendon, and Brett Franks.
Pallbearers will be Sherman Roberts, Dave Lawson, Keith Evans, Howard Evans, Kyle Evans, and Steve Evans.
