She was born Oct. 25, 1919, in Walker County but lived most of her life in Sayre and Adamsville. She was a nurse for the UMWA for many years and a long-standing member of the Eastern Star. She dedicated her life to serving God, family, friends, and the community.
She was preceded in death by her husband and father of her children, Lester Davis, and husband, Billy Glidewell; parents, H. Porter and Minnie Bea (Posey) Ferguson; and two brothers, Henry Porter Ferguson Jr. and Harold Ferguson.
She is survived by her children, Bobby (Bea) Davis and Sarah (Larry) Otts; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Mac Ferguson (Sara Dean), Billy Ferguson Sr., Donald (Barbara) Ferguson; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, from 6 until 8 p.m. at New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home in Dora, and funeral services will be on Sunday at 2 p.m. at New Horizon. Private interment will be held at Sardis Cemetery in Jasper.
