Grace Winkler Filyaw Glover, 97, of Jasper, passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2012, at Ridgeview Healthcare. Grace Glover was first and foremost a Christian. Her daily life was a testimony to family and friends. Throughout the years, she had many roles; child of God, dedicated wife and mother, loving grandmother, and a proud great-grandmother. She sacrificed much for her family and donated to many charities. We praise God for our time on earth with her and look forward to seeing her again one day.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. today, March 31, 2012, at Collins-Burke Funeral Home Chapel prior to services. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today, March 31, 2012, at Collins-Burke Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow at Walker Memory Gardens. Bill Martin will officiate.

She was preceded in death by her father, Frank E. Winkler; mother, Lena Noniker Winkler; husband, Lecil A. Filyaw; second husband, Vertis W. Glover; children, Edith Glover, Lila Jean Glover Cottrell, Jerry Glover, Frankie Glover and Mary Faye Filyaw; six brothers; and five sisters.

She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Lindler (Jerry) of Port Orange, Fla., and Jane Jett (Wallace) of Jasper; sons, Joe Filyaw (Rosemary) of Jasper, Andy Filyaw (Shirley) of Jasper and Bruce Glover (Jackie) of Jasper; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jason Lindler, William Jett, Jerry Jett, Bryce Cottrell, C.J. Akins and Trent Kennedy.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to New Canaan Baptist Church where she faithfully attended or to donor’s favorite charity.
