Artists can download an application at www.artsofwalkercounty.org or visit the WCAA’s office at 201 19th Street West in Jasper.
The fee is $50 for one artist or $75 for two artists per booth.
Because Art in the Park is a juried show, participants are required to submit two photos of examples of the original work they intend to display.
This year’s event has been set for Saturday, May 12 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Gamble Park.
The 2011 festival brought in more than 80 artists from across Alabama and several neighboring states.
Examples of the fine arts and crafts represented included painting, drawing, wood carving, stained glass, sculpture, pottery, fabric arts and jewelry.
WCAA is showcasing a few of this year’s artists in the Focus on Art exhibit in the lobby of Walker Baptist Medical Center.
Art in the Park will also include a silent auction, a performance of “The Little Engine That Could” by Birmingham Children’s Theatre and a children’s activity area sponsored by the Walker Area Youth Council.
Refreshments will be available.
“We are really pleased to have two delicious food vendors returning — Q & A BBQ and Johnny Brusco’s NY Style Pizza,” said Beth Sargent, executive coordinator of WCAA. “And we are welcoming a new food vendor traveling from Birmingham, Ken Waites, who will be serving kettle corn, pork skins, peanuts, and shaved ice.”
Booths and a limited number of sponsorships are available for Art in the Park, which is free to the public.
