Kevin Lane Johnston, 53, of Curry, departed this earthly life Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011, surrounded by angels, to enter the pearly gates of his heavenly mansion and to live with his Lord and Savior for eternity. He was surrounded by his cherished wife Neana and his precious children, Seth, Corey, BreAnna, Erin and Jessica. He left this life a very loved and cherished husband and father.

At Lane’s request there will be no funeral. Cremation will be handled by Kilgore-Green and his ashes will be scattered at his most cherished places.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Nettie Faye Johnston; grandparents, Flora Vines Johnston and Oron Flemon Johnston; two half brothers and one one half sister; brother-in-law, Steven Pulliam.

He is survived by his cherished wife, Neana Johnston of Curry; children, Seth Johnston of Thach, Corey Johnston of Thach, BreAnna Johnston of Curry and Erin Johnston Glover (Brandon) of Macedonia; stepchildren, Jessica Shell of Tuscaloosa and Jack Shell II of Jasper; four step-grandchildren, Morgan and Gracie Shell of Holly Pond, and Mason and Hayes Glover of Macedonia; first grandson expected in April to Erin and Brandon Glover who had already named him “Little Man”; former wife, Pamela Johnston of Thach, and former in-law family, Donald and Dot Pulliam of Thach; and a host of beautiful loving family whom he always looked forward to sharing family reunions with.

Lane’s family, extended family and all the precious friends he shared his life with were blessings beyond explanantion.

Our deepest thanks to all the folks who became our dear friends at the Walker Cancer Care Center and Dr. Michael Garcia, for all the loving care you showed to Lane and our family.
