Winston County sex offender set for parole hearing

Posted

A Winston County sex offender will have a parole hearing Tuesday, March 3.

A spokesman for the Alabama Bureau of Pardons and Paroles said state law requires that inmates be given parole consideration but does not require that parole be granted. Since the Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles resumed parole hearings under new leadership last November, the board has not paroled any sex offenders.

According to information from the state, Troy Clanmon Glass was convicted in Winston County in 2006 of first-degree rape of his three-year old female cousin, court records show. He was later sentenced to 20 years in prison for the crime. He has served 15 and a half years of his sentence.

The judge in the case said it was “one of the most heinous offenses that anyone can imagine,” according to court records.
