Community and school events, and class and family reunions, are listed free of charge and run in chronological order by calendar date and time. Community and school events, and class and family reunions are only accepted from local civic, government, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations, schools, high school classes, and families. The deadline to place a community or school event, class or family reunion is no later than noon on Tuesday or Friday of each week. Hay Valley Volunteer Fire Department is requesting annual fire dues (cost is $35) and/or donations. All firefighters are volunteers, but financial assistance is needed for monthly operating expenses, such as utilities, supplies, maintenance on vehicles and up-keep of the fire station. Walker County Community Action Agency will begin its Senior Adult Outreach Program for LIHEAP Cooling Assistance on Thursday, June 1. This is for senior adults age 60 and above only.
