Wayne 'The Bugman' Fields

Wayne “The Bugman” Fields, 85, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2019.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served his country in the Korean War. He was a retired coal miner and owned Fields Pest Control.

Mr. Fields is survived by his son, Gary Wayne Fields (Terry) of Dora, Alabama; sister, Mary Smith (Sam) of Mt. Olive, Alabama; granddaughters, Clarissa Blackmon (Eric)of Adamsville, Alabama, and Jessica Long (Danny) of Chelsea, Alabama; two great grandsons, Garrett Blackmon, and Mason Long; special “brothers and sisters,” Buddy Hicks (Cathy), Larry Little (Linda) and Patricia Reed; special nephews and nieces; and a host of family and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Hicks Fields; parents, Ernest and Rosa Fields; and siblings, Onley, Harold, Paul, Dickie, Richard, Lee, Fay, and Martha.

The family wishes to express a special thank you to his caregivers, Julie Burr and Scott Little. 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2019, in the Bell Sumiton Chapel. Visitation will take place in the chapel Monday, April 29, 2019, from 6 until 8 p.m.  Mike Cox will be the minister.
