April 20, 1928 - April 14, 2017 Violet Stallings Hardy, 88, of Jasper, passed away Friday, April 14, 2017, at Walker Baptist Medical Center.
The family will receive friends today, April 20, 2017, at 10 a.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home. Funeral services will be today, April 20, 2017, at 11 a.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel. Graveside services will be today, April 20, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Concord Baptist Church Cemetery in Concord, Alabama. Charlie Creel will officiate.
Today we will be celebrating the life of Violet Stallings Hardy, a very special lady. She lived an amazing life and was loved by everyone she met. While living in Concord, she was involved in civic activities. After moving to Jasper, she and her husband, Rolland Eugene Hardy, ministered to the people of Walker County. She taught first grade at Corner School for 17 years. Violet traveled the world and thoroughly enjoyed her life.
Hardy was preceded in death by her father, James Newton Stallings; mother, Gladys Hayes Stallings; husband, Rolland Eugene Hardy; son, Michael Eugene Hardy; and grandchildren, Brian Michael Hardy and David Lee Hardy.
She is survived by her daughters, Marcia Hardy and Joy Hardy Binkley; son, Patrick Steven Hardy; brother, James Newton Stallings Jr.; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
