DORA – The Dora Area Veterans Committee announced this week that the order forms are now ready for the brick pavers scheduled for the city's new Veterans Memorial.

The City of Dora is in process of erecting the memorial in front of the civic center next to City Hall.

Planners started the process early so the memorial will be ready on Veterans Day 2019.

Richard Bradley of Laser Works of Alabama is designing the granite monument. The firm has designed several other monuments around Alabama.

People in the Dora area can buy an engraved black granite brick paver to place around the monument area, according to Mayor Randy Stephens.

The 4-inch by 8-inch pavers will accommodate three lines with 20 characters and spaces each. Each memorial brick will cost $100.

For those who would like to honor a friend or family member, they can order a memorial paver by visiting Dora City Hall to fill out a form and make payment. The pavers cost $100 each.

Order forms concerned with the brick pavers can be downloaded at www.doraveteransmemorial.com. The community can also keep up with activities on the the Dora Area Veterans Memorial Facebook page.
