Third victim in flash fire dies Sunday

A third person has died from injuries sustained in a June 12 flash fire at Carl Cannon Chevrolet in Jasper.

Zack Davis, 20, of Carbon Hill, died Sunday morning at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

Davis was one of four men critically injured when the flash fire occured in the dealership’s service department.

A fifth worker suffered minior injuries.

Davis, along with Jonah Johnson, 20, of Carbon Hill, Jake Jennings, 39, of Locust Fork and Javan Robinson, 20, of Jasper, were critically injured when the flash fire happened in an oil change pit.

Officials are still trying to determine what may have caused the fire.

Jennings died June 13 at UAB; Robinson died June 22.

Johnson remains hospitalized at UAB Hospital.

A fund has been established at First Bank of Jasper for the victims of the June 12 flash fire at Carl Cannon Chevrolet in Jasper.
