OAKMAN - Ten people were arrested on drug charges Wednesday when the Walker County Sheriff's Office's Patrol and Narcotic divisions executed several search warrants in Oakman.

Jasper Police Department's Narcotics division and Oakman Police Department also participated in the operation.

Walker County Sheriff Nick Smith said the arrests were a result of narcotics investigators Josh Edwards and Blair Huddleston diligently pursuing tips about drug activity reported by Oakman residents.

The following individuals were arrested:

• Woody Allen Frost, 36, Oakman — unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Frost is also wanted out of Kentucky by Probation and Parole.

• Donald Edward Colburn, 44, Oakman — unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Amber Marie Garrett, 32, Oakman — distribution of a controlled substance (heroin).

• Randy Taylor, 58, Oakman — second-degree possession of marijuana.

• Roger Dale Randolph, 62, Oakman — distribution of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), unlawful possession of a controlled substance, certain persons prohibited from possessing firearm and chemical endangerment of a child.

• Charlene Michelle Palmer Smith, 46, Oakman — chemical endangerment of a child, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Ginny Desiree Odom Staggs, 40, of Oakman — unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Tiffany Rae Fondren, 29, Oakman — unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Angela Dean Fondren, 51, Oakman — two counts of distribution of a controlled substance, and three counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

• LeMicheal Wayne Jones, 40, of Oakman — two probation revocation warrants.

The operation capped off a series of drug arrests that began Friday when Ricky Day, 61, of Empire, was found to have half of a pound of marijuana in his vehicle when Capt. Ralph Williams conducted a traffic stop on York Mountain Road.

Day will be charged with felony possession of marijuana. According to the sheriff's office, Day is already on probation for selling drugs and is now subject to having his probation revoked.

Gerald Wayne Goodwin Jr., 57, of Rice Hill Road, was arrested on a traffic stop Tuesday on Empire Road while the Narcotics Division was investigating drug activity in Empire. Goodwin was arrested by Williams for possession of methamphetamine, syringes and a meth smoking pipe.

According to the sheriff's office, Goodwin had a revoked driver’s license, an expired and switched license plate and has been to prison four times already.

Karen Elizabeth Colley, 38, and Anthony Levon Diffy, 55, both of Empire, were arrested by narcotics investigator Slade Reeves during a traffic stop conducted in Empire at 2 a.m. on Wednesday.

Colley was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia after being found to be in possession of over 14 grams of methamphetamine.

Diffy was arrested for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
