R.E. “Click” Jaye went to be with the Lord Saturday, May 18, 2019, at Ridgeview Healthcare Center.

There will be a graveside service held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 20, 2019, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Jasper. David Byrd and John Jaye will officiate.

Jaye was an Omaha Beach D-Day vet, who was also involved in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. His greatest love was for his Savior, Jesus. Mr. Click loved to be around teenagers in his younger days and coached many young men and women in softball and basketball as well as life, mostly life. His greatest joy was in serving his Lord, which he did faithfully until his death. He wanted no acknowledgements, but deserved many. He always wanted all glory and honor to go to Jesus. He will be missed, but his family is rejoicing in his going home. He was ready. Are you?

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Jaye; parents, Thomas and Ida Jay; siblings, Thomas Jr. Jay, Wilburn Jay, Glen Jay, David Jay, Thelma Smith, Nona Johnson and Evelyn Lowery.

He is survived by his son, John Jaye (Sabrina); grandchildren, Heather Jaye and Holly Rivers (Erick); great-grandchildren, Jaye Rivers, Lyla Rivers and John Rivers; and many nephews and nieces that loved their Uncle Click.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the youth ministry at Northside Baptist Church.
