Richard Eugene Willis, 61, of Eldridge, passed away Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018, at his residence.
Willis was born in Haleyville on April 22, 1956, to John R. and Florence Haley Willis. He was a graduate of Flour Bluff High School in Corpus Christi, Tex. He grew up in a military family and was a veteran himself, serving 16 years in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed keeping a farm and riding motorcycles. He was known to have a great sense of humor and being a loving husband and father.
He was preceded in death by a brother, John Anthony Willis; a grandchild, McKenzie Lachea Sandlin; a son-in-law, Sean Allen Sandlin; and his grandparents, Jarvis and Easter Willis and Manny Fowler and Lorene Alexander.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Patricia Willis of Eldridge; four daughters, Jessica Earnest and her husband Scot of Winfield, Crystal Bridgman and her husband Jeremy of Eldridge, Nikkie Channel and her husband Cecil Channel of Glen Allen, and Hillary Shepard and her husband Justin of Abilene, Tex.; a brother, Alan Willis; a sister, Sharon Handley; 13 grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018, at 2 p.m. from the McGraw Memorial Chapel of Miles Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Kelley Cemetery with Richard Alexander officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018, at the funeral home from noon until time of service at 2 p.m.
