DORA — Dora split a home tri-match against Cordova and Corner on Tuesday. In the opener, Cordova won 25-18, 18-25, 15-10. Dora defeated Corner 25-21, 25-21.

No. 1 Jasper tops MoJo, Lawrence County

DORA — Dora split a home tri-match against Cordova and Corner on Tuesday. In the opener, Cordova won 25-18, 18-25, 15-10. Dora defeated Corner 25-21, 25-21.

For Dora, Courtney Stone had 36 assists, 12 digs, four kills, four blocks and two aces, JaMya Harris had 15 digs and 10 kills, Jasmine Parker had 34 digs, Nicole Ballenger had 10 kills, five blocks, five digs and three aces, Michaela Brown had 25 digs five kills, two assists and two blocks while Zharia Hubbard, who only played against Corner, had six blocks and five kills.

Dora (15-15) plays at Curry on Thursday.

Dora defeated Oakman Monday, winning 25-9, 25-10, 20-25, 25-23.

Harris had 12 assists, nine kills and one ace, Stone had 27 assists, five digs, three aces and three kills, Ballenger had seven kills, four digs, two aces and a block, Brown had 24 digs, Parker had 20 digs and Hubbard had eight kills and four blocks.

Oakman’s JV team won 25-13, 16-25, 15-11. For Dora, Rukia Chapel had 21 digs, Kaylee Woods had eight kills, Rachelle Davis had 12 digs, three aces and one kill, Mikalyn Reese had 12 digs and one kill and Demerica Parker added five kills, three digs, two aces and a block.

Jasper sweeps tri-match

Jasper’s No. 1 volleyball team moved to 29-6 on the season on Tuesday, sweeping Mortimer Jordan and Lawrence County in a tri-match at Carl Cannon Coliseum.

The Vikings defeated Mortimer Jordan 25-10, 25-17, 25-15 in a Class 5A, Area 11 match before taking down Lawrence County 25-9, 25-20 in the night’s final match. Lawrence County defeated Mortimer Jordan 25-16, 25-18.

For Jasper, Alex Oliver had 19 kills, nine assists, five blocks and two aces on the day, McKinley Ferguson had 11 kills, 34 assists and four aces, Kelsey Shelton had 11 kills and two blocks, Jordan Gilbert had 11 kills and four blocks, Dayion Johnson had six kills and two blocks, Cagejia Hosey had two kills and Ali Daniel had 17 assists.

Jasper travels to Corner for another area match on Thursday.
