Jasper split its first regular-season tennis match of the season on Wednesday at Valley Park with the boys earning a 7-2 win over Decatur and the girls falling 8-1.

Prep tennis: Jasper boys earn win over Decatur

Jasper split its first regular-season tennis match of the season on Wednesday at Valley Park with the boys earning a 7-2 win over Decatur and the girls falling 8-1.

Jasper's boys team swept through doubles play without losing a game.

The No. 1 team of Grayson Barber and Mason Woodman earned a 10-0 win as did the No. 2 team of Jack Bryan and Alex Barber and the No. 3 team of Conner Wesley and Stephen Williams.

Jasper won four of the six singles matches.

At No. 1, Bryan won 11-9, Wesley won 11-9 at No. 3, Alex Barber won 10-1 at No. 4 and Hayden Davis won 10-8 at No. 6.

Williams dropped his No. 2 singles match 10-7 and Sam Martin fell 10-7 at No. 5.

On the girls side, Sophia Poolos was the lone winner at No. 3 singles, winning 10-7.

Mary-Alice Pearson lost 10-0 at No. 1, No. 2 Amelia Poolos lost 10-8, No. 4 Lillian Griffin lost 10-2, No. 5 Morgan Aldridge lost 10-1 and No. 6 Jenna Brown lost 10-6.

In doubles, the No. 1 team of Amelia and Sophia Poolos lost 10-4, the No. 2 team of Pearson and Griffin lost 10-2 and the No. 3 team of Brown and Hallie Spivy lost 10-8.

Jasper is scheduled to host Ramsay today.
