SUMITON — Amber Hayes’ two-run inside-the-park-home run helped seal an 11-0, five-inning win for the Sumiton Christian Eagles over the Sulligent Blue Devils on Tuesday at Aderholt Field.

SUMITON — Amber Hayes’ two-run inside-the-park-home run helped seal an 11-0, five-inning win for the Sumiton Christian Eagles over the Sulligent Blue Devils on Tuesday at Aderholt Field.

Hayes finished the day a perfect 4 for 4 at the plate, with three runs scored, four RBIs and the home run. Jessie Baughan was 3 for 4 with three runs scored and a double, Sarah Hadder went 2 for 3 with a run scored, a double and two RBIs, AK Tyree was 1 for 3 with a triple and three RBIs, Anna Calloway went 1 for 3 with two runs scored and an RBI, Taylor Whisonant recorded a hit with an RBI and Kalista Cornelison had a hit.

Calloway got the shutout win for Sumiton Christian, allowing just three hits and no walks, while striking out six batters.

The Eagles travel to Jasper to today to face the hosting-Vikings at 12:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast both on WJLX 101.5 F.M. and mountaineagle.com.

Carbon Hill 5, Lamar County 0

Karlie Ratliff pitched seven shutout innings for Carbon Hill, giving up four hits, four walks and throwing two strikeouts in a 5-0 win over Lamar County.

Offensively, Alleigh Keeton went 2 for 4 with a run scored, an RBI, a double and a triple, Alayna Ivie was 2 for 3 with a run scored, Adison Alexander went 1 for 3 with an RBI double, Ana Grace Guy had a hit with an RBI and a run scored, Santana Clark recorded a hit with a run scored, Ratliff had a hit with two RBIs and Allie Parr scored a run.

Corner 4, Mortimer Jordan 1

Ivey Hill got the win for the Yellow Jackets, giving up four hits, a run, four walks and recording seven strikeouts.

At the plate, Jaden Goodwin went 3 for 4 with a run scored, Jiselle Woodson was 1 for 3 with two runs scored, Brantly Bonds went 1 for 3 with a run scored, Hill was 1 for 3 with two RBIs, Lauren Higginbotham recorded a hit with an RBI and Shelby Sanford and Anna Hinkle each had a hit.

Oakman 5, Cold Springs 0

Oakman earned the home win behind pitcher Jessy Alston, who allowed two hits and struck out one in six innings. Kate Makemson went the final inning, allowing one hit and striking out two.

At the plate, Jade Bonner was 3 for 4 with a double and a run while Samantha Kelly was 1 for 3 with three RBIs.

Hayden 10, Dora 0

Chelsey Henderson went 1 for 3 and Ja’Mya Harris was 1 for 2 in the Dora Bulldogs’ 10-0 loss to the Hayden Wildcats.

Kayleigh Patterson pitched six innings, while Jasmine Parker pitched one inning.

Curry Jr. High 15, Valley 10

Ava Brown went seven innings in the circle for Curry’s junior high team with 14 strikeouts and 10 walks.

At the plate, she finished 2 for 4 with a double and scored three runs. Aubrey lackey was 2 for 2 with three runs scored and a double, Macie Kilpatrick was 1 for 2 with a double and scored two runs, Ali Woodard was 2 for 2 with two runs scored. Curry (5-1) plays in the Lynn tournament on Saturday.
