The Jasper Vikings picked up their second area win of the season with a 16-1, three-inning victory over the Minor Tigers on Tuesday at Jasper.
Skylar Birdyshaw pitched three innings in the win, giving up four walks, a run, no hits and striking out six batters.
Offensively, Temperance Chatman went 3 for 4 with a run scored, a double and four RBIs, Mattie Hice was 2 for 3 with two runs scored and an RBI, Abby Trotter 1 for 3 with three runs scored, a double and four RBIs, Iyana Ivory had a three-run triple with two runs scored, Birdyshaw recorded a hit with a run scored, Blake Burton had a run scored with an RBI and Ansley Laye, Kelsey Shelton and Maylen Sargent scored two runs each.
Jasper scored eight runs in the first inning, followed by six runs in the second and concluded with two runs in the third. The Vikings (10-7) host the Carver Rams today at 3:15 p.m. in another area matchup. The game will be broadcast on mountaineagle.com.
Dora 3, Meek 2
Hallie Roberts picked up a key win in the circle for Dora, allowing four hits, two runs, five walks and striking out two batters in seven inning in the Bulldogs’ 3-2 victory over the Meek Tigers on Tuesday at Dora.
Roberts also had a good day at the plate for Dora, going 2 for 3 with a run scored. Courtney Stone was 1 for 2 with a run scored, Kayleigh Patterson and Ally Reed each recorded a hit and Callie Simmons scored a run.
In the loss for Meek, Kalin Rivers gave up five hits, three runs and four walks in six innings.
Offensively, Gabrielle Martinez and LaKota Alden were 1 for 3 with a run scored each, Sevanna Banks had a hit with an RBI and Abby Phillips recorded a hit.
Carbon Hill 15, Vinemont 0
The Carbon Hill Bulldogs had a superb day both at the plate and in the circle Tuesday in a 15-0, four-inning win over the Vinemont Eagles in area play at Carbon Hill.
Santana Clark got the win, pitching two perfect innings with four strikeouts. Karlie Ratliff pitched the remaining no-hit two innings, giving up a walk and striking out three batters.
Offensively, Ratliff was a perfect 4 for 4 with three runs scored, four RBIs and three doubles, Alleigh Keeton went 3 for 3 with three runs scored, two RBIs and a double, Makindle McGough was 2 for 3 with two runs scored, two RBIs and a double, Clark went 2 for 2 with three runs scored, an RBI and a triple, Adison Alexander with two RBIs and a triple, Alayna Ivie had a hit with a run scored, Allie Parr recorded a hit with an RBI, Ally Martin had a hit with a run scored and Abby Martin scored two runs.
