The Corner Yellow Jackets broke a 7-7, fourth-inning tie by outscoring the Jasper Vikings 10-1 through the remainder of the game for a 17-8 victory on Wednesday.

Prep Softball: Corner pulls away from Jasper

The Corner Yellow Jackets broke a 7-7, fourth-inning tie by outscoring the Jasper Vikings 10-1 through the remainder of the game for a 17-8 victory on Wednesday.

Ivey Hill picked up the win in the circle for the Yellow Jackets, pitching three and two-thirds innings, with three hits, one run and striking out five batters.

Mackenzie Self pitched two innings with two strikeouts and Anna Hinkle pitched one and one-third innings.

Offensively, Jaden Goodwin went 4 for 6 with two runs scored, Lauren Dill was 4 for 5 with a run scored and four RBIs, Brantly Bonds was 3 for 4 with three runs scored, four RBIs, a double and a home run, Abby Shenck went 3 for 4 with two RBIs, Lauren Higginbotham was 3 for 5 with two RBIs, a double and a home run, Ashlynn Martin went 2 for 4 with four runs scored and an RBI, Hinkle was 2 for 4 with three run scored, Jiselle Woodson went 2 for 3 with two runs scored and two RBIs and Dakota Parker and Brooklyn Miller scored a run each.

For Jasper, Ashton Prescott pitched three and two-thirds innings, Lakelyn Turnbow pitched three innings and Shanna Sexton pitched two-thirds innings with one strikeout.

At the plate, Blake Burton went 2 for 3 with two runs scored, an RBI and a homerun, Lillian Ergle was 2 for 3 with a run scored, an RBI and a home run, Consondria Clay went 1 for 2 with a run scored and a triple, Maylen Sargent was 1 for 3 with a run scored and an RBI, Brown was 1 for 3 with a run scored and an RBI, Ansley Laye had a hit with two runs scored, Tryneti Chatman recorded an RBI and Makayla McClendon had a hit.

Winfield 4, Carbon Hill 1

Karlie Ratliff pitched all seven innings for Carbon Hill recording two strikeouts.

At the plate, Adison Alexander went 2 for 2 with two doubles, Mahaley Pugh was 2 for 3 with an RBI, Alleigh Keeton went 2 for 4, Ana Grace Guy was 1 for 3 and Ally Martin scored a run.

Curry 2, Cordova 0 (9 innings)

Alea Freeman got the win for the Yellow Jackets, allowing four hits in nine shoutout innings.

Offensively for Curry, Linely Tubbs went 2 for 3 with the game-winning two-run single, Alayna Key was 2 for 5 with a run scored, Laycee Cordell went 2 for 4 and Karoline Bishop had a hit with a run scored.
