Prep soccer: Jasper earns area sweep of Ramsay

The Jasper Vikings soccer teams picked up key area wins Monday night as the boys and girls both hosted Ramsay.

The Jasper girls earned a 4-1 win.

Damaris Ibanez led the Vikings with three goals on the night. Elysia Kent also scored a goal. Yessenia Sanchez played in goal for Jasper, giving up only one score.

The girls are now 1-2 on the season, but are now 1-0 in area play.

The Jasper boys team earned a 7-1 win over Ramsay to move to 2-1 on the year and 2-0 in area play.

Domingo Jose 'Larios and Moises Sanchez scored two goals each for Jasper. Preston Reed, Carson Frazier and Hayden Yerby each scored one goal. Stone Phillips gave up one score in goal on a deflection off a Jasper player into the Ramsay goal.

The Jasper teams will return to action Thursday when they host Pelham at the Jasper Toy Bowl Field. The girls game is scheduled to start at 5 p.m. with the boys game to follow.
