CARBON HILL — Sixth-ranked Montevallo had no trouble with Carbon Hill on Friday night, blanking the Bulldogs 49-0 in the region finale for both teams. Montevallo (8-1) led just 7-0 after the first quarter following a four-yard run by Tre Shawn Brown. The visiting Bulldogs took control in the second quarter, putting three touchdowns on the scoreboard. Zachary Oden had all three touchdowns. He had a pair of eight-yard runs and added his third score on a one-yard run in the closing seconds of the half for a 28-0 lead. Montevallo struck for two touchdown passes in the third quarter and Jarius Sullens scored the final touchdown on a 49-yard run in the fourth quarter to push the final to 49-0.

The home-standing Bulldogs were shutout for the second time this season. Carbon Hill (1-8) travels to country rival Curry (1-8) for the regular-season finale next week. ——— West End 73, Winston Co. 28 Winston County dropped its seventh straight game on Friday night, falling to West End-Walnut Grove 73-28 on the road. West End scored early and often, building a 46-6 halftime lead. The 101 points scored in the game set a new school record for Winston County, which hosts Addison in the season finale next week.
