Curry went a perfect 2-0 at home on Friday, scoring 24 total runs in rout of both Dora and Pleasant Grove.

Curry 14, Dora 4, six innings

Luke Smith went a perfect 4 for 4 at the plate with three runs scored and three RBI's in the Curry Yellow Jackets' 14-4 win over the Dora.

Smith earned the win on the mound for the Yellow Jackets (4-1), pitching four innings with three earned runs and six strikeouts. Cade Miller pitched one and one-third innings in relief, recording two strikeouts. Jacob Woder pitched two-thirds innings.

Offensively for Curry, Woder went 3 for 4 with a run scored, four RBIs and two doubles, Miller was 2 for 3 with three runs scored, William Haynes went 2 for 3 with three runs scored, Weston Horton had a hit with two runs scored, Hunter Bates recorded a hit with a run scored and Dylan Dunagan and Brayden Davis had a hit each.

Tyler Allen pitched four innings in the loss for Dora, recording two strikeouts. Knoxx Eustice pitched an inning in relief.

At the plate for the Bulldogs (4-2), Logan Fowler was 2 for 4 with a run scored and two doubles, Eustice and Boone Martin had a hit with an RBI and a run scored each, Jake Phillips and Tanner Earnest recorded hits and Zach Watson scored a run.

Curry 10, Pleasant Grove 0, five innings

Cody Dunagan pitched a five-inning one hitter against the Spartans in Curry's 10-0 win.

Dunagan allowed one hit, two walks and struck out six in five innings.

At the plate, Miller was 1 for 3 with four stolen bases, two runs and an RBI, Smith was 1 for 3 with two RBIs, Haynes was 1 for 2 with two stolen bases and three runs, Woder was 1 for 2 with two stolen bases, a run and an RBI, Hunter Bates was 1 for 3 with a run and an RBI, Brayden Davis was 1 for 1 with a run and Dunagan added a run scored.

Curry plays at Cordova today.

Dora 17, Pleasant Grove 7, five innings

The Bulldogs rebounded from the Curry loss with a 17-7, five inning win over Pleasant Grove also on Friday at Dora.

Kyle Chapman pitched two innings, giving up two hits and two earned runs. Logan Fowler pitched one and two-thirds innings in relief, giving up three hits with one strikeout. Boone Martin pitched one and one-third inning, giving up two hits, an earned hit and recording one strikeout.

At the plate, Tanner Earnest went a perfect 4 for 4 with three runs scored, two doubles and three RBIs, Jake Phillips was 3 for 4 with two runs scored, a double and two RBIs, Fowler went 2 for 3 with three runs scored, a double, a homerun and two RBIs, Martin was 2 for 3 with a run scored, two doubles and two RBIs, Knoxx Eustice went 1 for 3 with two runs scored and an RBI, Zach Watson had a three-run double with a run scored, Hayden Bozeman recorded a hit wirh a run scored, Tyler Allen had a hit with a run scored and an RBI, Zac Headrick scored two runs and Chapman had a run.

Dora plays at Cordova today.

Jasper drops pair to Mountain Brook

Tyler Thomasson pitched five shutout innings in the Vikings' 3-1 first-game loss to Mountain Brook on Friday, giving up two hits and striking out eight batters.

Topher Wilson pitched two-third innings in relief, with Seth Davidson pitching a third of an inning.

At the plate, Kaden Shelton went 2 for 3 with a solo homerun.

In the 2-0 loss in the second game, Braxton Turnbow pitched four innings, recording three strikeouts. Tyler Morrison and Shelton pitched an inning each in relief, both recording a strikeout.

Offensively, Tyler Thomasson had a double, while Shelton, Mayson Slaughter and John Michael Crump each had a hit.

Jasper (5-3) plays an area game at Hayden on Tuesday.

Oakman 7, South Lamar 6

Chase Moody drove-in Matthew Smith in the bottom of the seventh inning to help the Oakman Wildcats edge the South Lamar Stallions, 7-6, on Friday at Oakman.

Moody pitched five and one-third innings in the win, giving up one earned run and recording three strikeouts. Blake Lollar pitched one and one-third innings in relief, striking out two batters. Will Rainer and Christian Lopez also made appearances on the mound.

Offensively,  Moody was 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI, Brayden Ray went 2 for 3 with a run scored, a triple, a double and two RBIs, Lollar was 1 for 3 with a run scored and an RBI, Lopez and Logan Martin both had a hit with a run scored, Jy Henderson  scored two runs and Smith had a run.

Oakman (2-2) plays Dora at Cordova today.

Carbon Hill 12, Marion County 3

Laney Keeton pitched six and two-third innings in the Carbon Hill Bulldogs' 12-3 victory over the Marion County Red Raiders on Friday, giving up three hits, one earned run and striking out 10 batters.

At the plate, Haden Pare went 2 for 4 with three runs scored, Braden Amerson was 2 for 5 with two runs scored, Caleb Kilgore went 1 for 3 with two runs scored, Caleb Connell had a hit with a run scored and two RBIs, Keeton recorded a hit with three runs scored and an RBI, Clay Tittle had a hit with a run scored and an RBI and Ty Jones recorded a hit with an RBI.

Carbon Hill (1-4) plays at Berry today.

Corner 17, Good Hope 0, four innings

Corner improved to 6-1 on the season with a 17-0, four-inning rout of Good Hope on Friday at Corner High School.

The Yellow Jackets scored in each inning, jumping out to a 2-0 lead in the first and pushing the lead to 8-0 after two innings. 

Jadyn Cagle got the win on the mound, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out seven in four innings. Justin Cummings went the final inning, striking out two.

Cummings led the team at the plate, going 2 for 3 with a double, two runs and three RBIs, Tyler McNiese was 1 for 2 with three runs, Andrew Baker was 1 for 3 with three runs and an RBI, Skyler Trawick was 1 for 3 with three runs, Chandler Brakefield was 1 for 3 with two RBIs, Hayes Brown 1 for 3 with two runs, Skyler Norris was 1 for 1 with two RBIs, Tanner Hayes had a run and an RBI, Brayden Rowe scored two runs and Colin Daniel scored a run.

Corner plays both Springville and Westbrook Christian at Springville today.

Mortimer Jordan 7, Dora 0 (Thursday)

In the loss to Class 5A state runner-up Mortimer Jordan, Dora's Madison Hann recorded five strikeouts in six innings pitched.

At the plate, Gracie Slate and Becca Wade both had a double.
