MONTGOMERY — Pike Road struck for three touchdowns in the opening quarter and never looked back, beating the Bulldogs 45-0 on Friday night in their Class 3A first-round playoff game.

Pike Road ousts Carbon Hill 45-0

MONTGOMERY — Pike Road struck for three touchdowns in the opening quarter and never looked back, beating the Bulldogs 45-0 on Friday night in their Class 3A first-round playoff game.

Carbon Hill, which hadn’t been to the postseason since 1999, trailed the undefeated Patriots 35-0 at the half Friday night.

Pike Road (11-0) got touchdowns on a 28-yard run, a 36-yard pass and a 39-yard pass for the 21-0 lead. The Patriots added 31 and 36-yard touchdown runs in the second quarter.

The Patriots scored a touchdown and added a field goal in the second half.

Carbon Hill (4-7) had just 141 yards of offense in the game. Alex Atkins led the way on defense with nine total tackles, one sack and one tackle for loss. Matthew Wallace added five tackles, Zack Lawhorn had four tackles and an interception and Hayden Pare had four tackles, one sack and a tackle for loss.
