Paul David Mayberry, 87, of Jasper, passed away Friday, March 17, 2017, at Brookwood Baptist Health Systems - Princeton.
Visitation will be held Monday, March 20, 2017, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home Chapel, with funeral services following at 7 p.m. Burial will take place at Lakeview Memory Gardens in Phenix City, Ala. Jim Blankenship and Dwayne Butler will officiate.
Mayberry was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Marie Phillips Mayberry; parents, John Albert Mayberry and Rachel Lucinda Starling Mayberry; brothers, Obie Mayberry, T.J. Mayberry and Lonnie Mayberry; and sisters, Barbara Schramm, Myrtle Blocker, Mildred Jernigan and Ann Coombs.
He is survived by his wife, Gaynell Barker Mayberry; daughters, Carol (Steve) Mikell and Linda (Junior) Brown; step-daughters, Janet (Charles) Lollar and Sarah (Bob) Roberts; step-son, Glen (Donna) Carroll; sister, Margaret Smith; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He served 24 years in the United States Army, with two tours in the Korean War and Vietnam War.
He was a deacon and member of Blackwater Macedonia Church of Christ. He had 18 years involvement in the jail ministry.
