PARRISH - The Parrish Town Council named La'Tisha Oliver to the vacant District 4 seat at Monday night's meeting.

Notable announcements from the council during the meeting included the following:

• Mayor Heather Hall lauded the success of the town's Fall Festival held at the end of October.

"It was absolutely huge — we had well over 3,000 people this year attend the festival. We feel that we are the go-to event for the Fall Festival season, which we're extremely proud of," Hall said. "With such a large crowd, we do have a few growing pains that we're going to have to work through, as the lines were so long, but I'm more than confident we will work the issues out."

•  The Town of Parrish Christmas Parade will be held on Thursday, Nov. 29.

• Town Hall will be closed on three days during the month of November — Nov. 12, Nov. 22 and Nov. 23 in observance of holidays.

• Effective at the December meeting, the council will meeting on the second Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m.
