Oakman to host Easter egg hunt

OAKMAN — Over 1,000 eggs will be hidden at Old York Farms on Saturday for a free community Easter event.

The Town of Oakman will host their annual Easter egg hunt this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Old York Farms with activities, music, food and a special visit from the Easter Bunny.

Senior citizens in Oakman have filled over 1,000 surprise eggs that children will hunt at the event, and there will be bouncy houses, games, kids' giveaways and more.

Oakman Mayor Cory Franks said DJ Michael Warren will provide entertainment, and the Easter Bunny will take photos with children, free of charge. All pictures will be posted on the town's Facebook page for people to share or save.

Oakman Fire and Rescue will be grilling food at the event.

"We've had a really good turnout the past two years we've done it. Bull Corry down at Old York Farms has been instrumental in opening up his place and being a part of it with us," Franks said. "We just hope that everybody will bring their kids out and enjoy the afternoon with us in Oakman and all the activities and free giveaways, food and entertainment."

Franks said he is thankful to everyone in the town that has played a role in organizing the Easter egg hunt.

Old York Farms, the host site for the event, is located at 244 School Street in Oakman.
