Posted

On April 1, 2019, Shelley Young Jones, LICSW, assumed the role of executive director at Northwest Alabama Mental Health Center following the retirement of Dr. Dale Cottle.

Jones held several positions in her 18 years with the Center, beginning with coordinator of the PHP program in Lamar County, regional PHP coordinator, Marion County outpatient director, and mostly recently as clinical director over mental illness and substance abuse programs for the five-county service area.

Also on April 1, 2019, Patricia L. Franks Montgomery, LPC, became clinical director over Northwest’s five counties. Montgomery joined Northwest's staff as an outpatient therapist in the Fayette Substance Abuse and Day Treatment programs in February 2000.

She has also held positions as Springhill Apartments coordinator, PHP coordinator, RDP coordinator and IDT coordinator.

In 2012 Montgomery was named director of the outpatient programs in Fayette County.

Northwest Alabama Mental Health Center provides outpatient and residential services for mental health related issues, substance use/abuse and services to individuals with intellectual or developmental disability diagnoses in five counties in north Alabama. These counties include Fayette, Lamar, Marion, Walker and Winston.

The office in Jasper may be reached by dialing (205) 302-9000.
