Construction of the new Capstone Rural Health Center is well underway in Parrish. The new clinic, which is expected to open the first week of October, will cover 10,000 square feet, three times the size of the current clinic that opened in June 2001. Funding for the $1.9 million facility was received from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Appalachian Regional Commission, Walker Area Community Foundation, the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham and Honda of Jasper. A groundbreaking ceremony was held in January. Construction is being overseen by Odom Construction of Parrish.
