Lynn moves to 4-0 with narrow win over R.A. Hubbard

Lynn held off an R.A. Hubbard last-minute rally to beat the Chiefs 15-14 in Courtland on Friday night.

The Bears held R.A. Hubbard on the final play from the 10-yard line, moving to 4-0 on the season in the process.

Lynn grabbed an early 7-0 lead on an Ethan Delay interception return in the first quarter. Cameron Gilbert’s extra point made the score 7-0.

Down 8-7, Lynn regained the lead in the third quarter on a Jordan Davis 5-yard run. He added the two-point conversion for a 15-8 lead.

R.A. Hubbard scored midway through the fourth quarter, but was stuffed on its two-point attempt, leaving Lynn with the one-point win.

Davis led the Bears’ defense with 12 tackles. Blake Adams added nine while Ethan Delay had eight tackles, including three for loss. Riley Key added eight tackles and Bailey Bennett had seven.

Offensively, Davis carried the ball 12 times for 50 yards and a score, Ethan Delay had 42 yards on seven carries and Noah Jackson rushed for 30 yards on seven carries.

Lynn hosts No. 4 Addison next week.
