Kenneth Samuel “Sam” Glover, 76, of Sumiton, went home to be with the Lord Friday, Aug. 18, 2017.
Glover was a member and Elder of Sumiton Church of God. For 35 years, he held Sunday services at Shadescrest Health Care in Jasper. He was founder of Glover Drugs, and had recently been recognized and awarded for 50 years in the pharmacy business. He was a graduate of Howard College (now Samford University). He was also known by everyone for his kindness and wonderful sense of humor.
Visitation will be today, Aug. 20, 2017, from 3 until 6 p.m. at Sumiton Church of God, with funeral services to follow at 6 p.m. at the church. The Rev. Lane Sargent and Pastor Victor Massey will officiate. Burial will be Monday, Aug. 21, 2017, at 10 a.m. at Morgan Cemetery in Sumiton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Rose Glover, and his sister, Peggy Glover.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Sarah Campbell Glover; his children, Kenneth S. “Ken” Glover II, Beth Sargent (Jeff) and Martin Glover (Tyra); daughter-in-law, Teresa Glover; grandchildren, Kenneth S. “Kent” Glover III (Kayla), Maggie Glover, Mary Kathryn Sargent, Carson Sargent, Shazi Glover and Cash Glover; brother, Jimmy Glover (Nell); sister, Patsy Stone (David); his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; his favorite pet, Ellie; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives as well as a host of friends.
