Janet Marie Brown Ward, 67, wife of Dr. William Q. Ward, of Belleair Beach, Florida, passed away suddenly on Thursday, June 28, 2018.
Janet graduated from Walker County High School in Jasper and from Auburn University, where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. She then went on to the University of Alabama to complete her master's degree in nutrition and dietetics, after which she received her certification as a registered dietician. After working at UAB as a nutritionist in nephrology for many years, she then relocated to Florida with her husband, Bill. She will most be remembered for her love of nature and her service to her community. In addition, her adventurous spirit led Janet and her husband on travels around the world. Her kind and giving spirit will be missed by all, but we are all so thankful she was part of our lives.

Ward, and his children, Robert and Cathy Ward of Los Angeles, California, Beth Dillard of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, and Patricia Anne Pace of Birmingham, Alabama. Other survivors include her brother, O.H. Brown and his wife, Marthanne, of Jasper; and her sister, Judy Hager and her husband, Steve, of Jasper.
Janet was predeceased by her parents, Agnes Taylor Brown and Howard Richmond Brown; and her sister, Joan Brown Lewis. She was also predeceased by Dr. Ward's son, Stephen.
