Irene gave her life to Christ at the age of 76 in January 2008. She was baptized and became a member of Freedom Worship Center in Arley, Alabama. She loved her family and her church family. She was a feisty person and spoke what she thought. Sometimes it got her into a little bit of trouble with daughters. She loved all of her family and enjoyed getting together and having family time with all of her loved ones. Her hobbies were few, but she loved talking on the phone with people. Loved hearing stories about what was going on, but she truly loved each member of her family and loved visits from all. She loved her Jesus…. she called his name on a daily basis, before she became too weak to speak his name.

She’s with her beautiful daughters, Becky and Jeannie, and the rest of her family who have gone on. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Files; daughters, Norma Jean “Jeannie” Griffin and Rebecca “Becky” Ferguson; parents, Ed Jones and Katie Armstrong Jones; and siblings, Edgar Jones, Carl Jones, Fred Jones, Maxcell Blazer and Mary Ann Boggs.

She is survived by her daughters, Clara Waid (Stan), Janice “Kay” Willcutt (Jerry), and Dorothy “Dot” Calloway (Hershel); grandchildren, Randal Griffin, Micheal Griffin (Sandy Perry), Chris Pinion, Wes Pinion, Denny Ferguson, Tyler Ferguson (Brittany), and Lee Mullinax (Lindsey); great-grandchildren, Nick Pinion, Cole Pinion, Parker Ferguson, Khali Bekka Ferguson, Hadley Mullinax, McKenna Mullinax, and Payton Johnson; many other step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Lillie Kilgore (Donald Allred); brother, Roy Jones; and son-in-law, James Griffin.
