ADDISON — Bracie Rodgers hit a 3-pointer to force overtime and the Bulldogs followed with three treys in the extra period as Addison rallied past Sulligent 63-58 in their 2A, Area 13 Tournament game at Addison High School on Monday night.

ADDISON — Bracie Rodgers hit a 3-pointer to force overtime and the Bulldogs followed with three treys in the extra period as Addison rallied past Sulligent 63-58 in their 2A, Area 13 Tournament game at Addison High School on Monday night.
 
With the season on the line, the top seeded Bulldogs trailed fourth seeded Sulligent by 11 points in the fourth quarter, 43-32, before putting together a rally. Addison scored five points over the final 38 seconds of regulation to tie the game at 52-52. 
 
In the extra period, Addison led by four points at 58-54 only to have Sulligent responded with back-to-back baskets to tie the game at 58-58 with 2:30 left.
 
Addison’s Savannah Manley connected on a 3-pointer, her second of overtime, to put the Bulldogs up for good. Callie Crider added the clinching basket with 14 seconds left.
 
With  the win, Addison ensured itself a spot in the sub-region round of the playoffs. The Bulldogs face Red Bay, a 42-35 winner over Winston County, at 6 p.m. Thursday in the area tournament championship game. The winner hosts a sub-region game while the loser travels.
 
Addison trailed for the majority of Monday’s game. Sulligent led 17-7 after the first quarter and 27-20 at the half. The Bulldogs got within one point in the third quarter, but Sulligent responded with a run for a 41-32 lead going into the fourth quarter.
 
Manley led Addison (20-2) with 16 points, Crider added 15, Kaylee Brummett had 12, Rodgers added 10 and Macy Butler had seven points. 
 
For Sulligent (2-20), Jayla Evans had 17 points.
