Jermaine “FunnyMaine” Johnson will bring his signature brand of humor to Jasper Thursday night for a show benefiting the Jasper Vikings football program.

Johnson, best known for his “How Alabam Fans Watched…” series of videos on social media, has been a professional comedian since 2005. The football videos helped make him one of the most popular comedians currently traveling the country. The family-friendly show will be Thursday night at the Pam Brown Theatre, located inside Jasper High School. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with the show starting at 7. Tickets are $10 each. They can be purchased from any Jasper High football players or coaches as well as purchased at the door.

“We are excited about having ‘FunnyMaine’ coming to Jasper,” Vikings football coach Bryan Moore said. “He is hilarious. It will be a fun time for everyone and a great way for the community to support our program.”

Carl Cannon and the Daily Mountain Eagle are sponsors for the event.

“We could not have put this together without the support of Carl Cannon. They do so much for our community, and we thank them in teaming up with us to bring Jermaine to town,” said James Phillips, DME publisher and member of the Jasper Vikings Quarterback Club. “I met Jermaine a couple of years ago at SEC Media Days, and we talked about getting him to Jasper sometime for a show. It worked out, and I think this will be a great night of entertainment.”

Johnson, who is also a disc jockey on 95.7 Jamz in Birmingham, said he is looking forward to performing in Jasper.

“I have a ton of friends from Walker County that played ball at Jasper so I can't wait to get back to and help with their program,” he said.
