Floyd Lewis Hyde, 78, of Dora, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday April 1, 2019.
He was the best husband, father, grandfather and friend anyone could hope to have. Lewis loved God more than anything and had a scripture he cold quote for any situation you might be going through. The man never met a stranger and was always willing to help someone in need. He had a passion for working in his sharecropping garden with his partners, Dan and Clyde. Lewis gave away more vegetables than he ate. He was a member and pillar of the Twilleytown Church of God of Prophecy.
Funeral services will be Thursday April 4, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be from 12 pm until service time. Burial will follow in New Horizon Memorial Gardens.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Lottie Hyde and his brother, Gaines Hyde.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Bobbie Hyde; children, Kim Herring (Larry), and Kelli Reed (Jesse); grandchildren, Ashley Thomas (Bradley) and Allison Taylor (Troy); great grandson, Grayson Taylor; brother, Larry Hyde (Janice); sisters, Bobbie Morrow and Donna Hyde; many other relatives and a host of friends.
