Cordova’s Emma Hyche entered the 2019 season as the Daily Mountain Eagle’s reigning Hitter of the Year and picked up where she left off — providing clutch hits for the Blue Devils in her senior finale with the program.

Despite eight games due to injury, Hyche posted a .573 batting average, with 19 runs scored, 18 RBIs, 11 doubles, two triples and two home runs. In 91 plate appearances, she was only struck out four times.

One of her landmark performances in 2019 came in a 14-1 victory over the Fayette County Tigers, where she went 5 for 6 at the plate, scoring a run with four RBIs, two doubles and a triple.

She hit over .570 for the second consecutive season.

Hyche hit .575 as a junior for the Blue Devils last season with 14 doubles, 33 runs and 45 RBIs.

Hyche, who has signed with Wallace State-Hanceville was named to the AHSAA Class 4A First-Team All-State.
