HAYDEN — The Dora Bulldogs remained winless in region play on Friday night with a 21-6 loss to the Hayden Wildcats at Robert W. Reid Stadium.

Dora loses sixth straight game

HAYDEN — The Dora Bulldogs remained winless in region play on Friday night with a 21-6 loss to the Hayden Wildcats at Robert W. Reid Stadium.

Hayden controlled the entire game on the ground rushing for 306 yards on 42 carries while attempting only one pass.

Hayden marched 63 yards in 16 plays on the opening drive that took 8:27 off the clock. The drive was capped by a 5-yard run by Evan Orr. Jacob Dowd added the extra point for a 7-0 lead in favor of the Wildcats.

Dora, which gained 25 yards in the first half, went three and out on its first and only possession of the quarter.

Hayden got the only score of the second quarter when Cole Goolsby outraced the Bulldogs defense for a 62-yard touchdown. Dowd added the extra point for a 14-0 halftime score.

Dora (2-6, 0-6) got a good defensive effort in the second half, stopping Hayden on downs three times. The Bulldogs’ offense got on the board late in the third at the 2:51 mark as quarterback Matthew Busby capped a 46-yard drive with a one-yard run. The extra point was blocked leaving Dora trailing 14-6 headed to the final frame.

Hayden (3-5, 2-4) got the final score when Orr took a first down snap and raced 47 yards for the capper. Orr finished the game with 139 yards and two scores on 21 carries. Goolsby finished with 113 yards and a score.

Dora was led by Jamaal Harris with 52 yards rushing on seven carries.

Dora wraps up region play next week as the host Russellville for Senior Night. Hayden will complete their season with a road game at West Point.
