West Point jumped out to a 14-0 first-quarter lead and never looked back, beating Cordova 55-14 at West Point High School in the season finale for both teams Friday night.

The Warriors led 14-6 after Cordova’s first touchdown, but they pushed their lead to 35-6 at the half.

The score was 41-6 when Cordova added its second touchdown of the night.

West Point (3-7), had dropped seven straight games since starting the season 2-0 while Cordova suffered its second straight loss to conclude the season after beating Oak Grove for its only win.

Cordova finished the season 1-9, the program’s worst record since an identical record in 1998.
