President Daisy Aldridge called the meeting at Victoria’s Restaurant to order at 2:02 pm. Members enjoyed dessert and beverages by hostesses Jane Johnston and Mary Ann Seel. Juanita Eads introduced our speaker, Nathan Gann, Director of Communication and Information Technology at Regional Paramedical Services (RPS). Mr. Gann talked about the beginnings of 9-1-1 on February 16, 1968 in Haleyville, AL and its progression to medical response today. He shared the history of RPS which was started in 1987 and is currently the largest ambulance service in Alabama serving 9 counties. In January, RPS expanded their emergency medical services by adding air medical service - Regional Air Medical Services (RAMS). Mr. Gann followed his remarks with a question and answer time for members.

After the program, President Aldridge started the Business meeting at 3 pm. Secretary Deb Hudson called the Roll - 13 members present, 1 absent. Minutes from the February meeting were read and approved. Treasurer’s Report was given by Jane Johnston: Current balance of $182.80 with no outstanding checks.

Jean Williams will continue to collect and distribute magazines – several magazines were given to Jean to distribute this next month.

New Business:

President Daisy Aldridge had reviewed the Club Constitution and Bylaws and pointed out that only the office of Treasurer can be held by the same member for consecutive years. Members discussed the Secretary office and Carol Shaw made a motion that an exception be made for the 2018-2019 year that would allow Deb Hudson to serve a consecutive term. The motion was seconded by Mary Ann Seel. Members voted and approved Deb Hudson to serve a consecutive term as Secretary in the 2018-2019 year.

Deb Hudson brought to the Club a suggestion to travel to Hartselle, AL for the Spring luncheon on May 8th. The downtown area has several restaurants and shops for members to choose. Reservations will be made in April and details finalized at the next meeting.

Club Collect was read by Deb Hudson to close our meeting. Meeting was adjourned at 3:20 pm.
