Katherine Ellen “Katie” Summers of Mountain Brook and Austin Michael Clifton of Kennesaw, Ga., were united in marriage by the Rev. Mike Holly during a double-ring ceremony held Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015, at 5 p.m. at Canterbury United Methodist Church in Mountain Brook.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Lynn Summers of Mountain Brook and was given in marriage by her parents. She is the granddaughter of Dr. David Jack Rowland and the late Mrs. David Jack Rowland of Jasper, Ala., and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Carson Summers of Knoxville, Tenn.

She wore an ivory lace formal strapless, low back gown with a sweetheart neckline, made of silk organza and Alencon lace. Her natural waistline was emphasized with a beautiful hand beaded crystal sash with a unique scalloped design. The silhouette of the gown was a full A-line gown and swept to a cathedral train. The cathedral length veil of ivory French tulle was edged with delicate English lace and held in place by a five pearl and crystal medallion bandeau. She carried a bouquet of bright red and crimson dahlias, white garden roses, white ranunculus and red spray roses and eucalyptus.

The Maid of Honor was the bride’s sister, Elizabeth Rowland Summers. The bridesmaids were Milan Adrianna Ballard, Lauren Anne Copeland, Sydney Louise Clifton, Natalie Anne Clifton, Sara Catherine Lavender, Kaitlin Elder Rothschadl and Lindsey Keelyn Waldheim.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Michael Clifton of Kennesaw, Ga. He is the grandson of the late Mr. Henry Wade Thurmond III, the late Mrs. Anne Lynn Pomorski, Mrs. Billy Michael Clifton and the late Mr. Billy Michael Clifton, all of Texas.

The best men were the groom’s father, Ronald Michael Clifton, and brother, Gage Martin Clifton. The groomsmen were James Matthew Byrd, Jerrad Cason Garrett, James Leslie Kilpatrick Junior, Nicholas Ian Crosby Lewis, Austin Steele Putnam, Alan Payne Rose and Bradley Joseph Wurm.

Crucifer was Robert Grayson Barber, cousin of the bride

Acolyte was Joseph Alexander Barber, cousin of the bride.

Flower girls were Lily-Margaret Rowland Barber, cousin of the bride, and Abbey Kellen Rowland, cousin of the bride.

Attendants were Kayla Marie Moreland and Anthony Isaiah Obi.

Following a short getaway, the couple returned home to Mountain Brook. A postponed honeymoon is planned.
